Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

Types of Articles: The journal accepts original articles, review articles, point of view, historical review, technical series, conference announcements, summary of trials, ECG quiz, EP rounds, letters to the editor, conference reports and book review.

Original Articles: Original articles are articles reporting research work which has not been published and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. The manuscript should have the following layout: Title page, Structured Abstract, Key words (3-6), Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments and References. The structured abstract should be less than 250 words and have the following sub headings: Background, Methods, Results and Conclusions. References should be numbered serially in the order in which they appear in the text. The number of references should preferably be limited to 50.

Review Articles: Reviews are usually commissioned by the editor. But unsolicited reviews will also be considered. The length of the review article should not exceed 5000 words. An abstract of less than 250 words should be included.

Editorials: Editorials are mostly written by the editors or the editorial advisory board members. But unsolicited editorials on topics of current interest will also be considered. Maximum number of words: 1500.

Interesting ECG / EP Tracing: Reports of interesting ECGs or EP tracings should be limited to less than 1500 words. ECG / EP tracings can also be written up as a quiz. Number of references should not exceed 5.

Scientific Letters: Scientific letters either with reference to an article published recently in the journal or on a topic of contemperory interest will be considered for publication. Letters should not exceed 500 words and 5 references.

Book Review: Authors / publishers desiring to have their books reviewed should contact the editor.

Conference Announcements and Reports: Single page conference announcements have to be sent to the editor at least three months prior to the conference dates. Reports of salient aspects of recent conferences may be written in less than 1500 words.

Point of View, Historical Review and Technical Series: Articles belonging to these category will undergo peer review and publication at the discretion of the editorial board regarding the suitability for the journal.

Manuscript Submission: All manuscripts should be accompanied by a covering letter stating that all authors have read the manuscript and contributed to the work. A statement to the effect that the material submitted has not been published elsewhere nor under consideration of publication. In case previously published material is being used for illustration of review articles, copies of letters granting permission by the publisher should be provided. The email ids of all authors should be provided. Manuscripts may be submitted online at: http://www.ipej.org. You have to register first in order to submit a manuscript. The online manuscript submission system is undergoing beta testing. Hence alternate method of manuscript submission is by email to: The email submitting the manuscript should be cc to all authors.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.
  3. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
